TERM 4 FOUNDATION – 2025 

We hope you are looking forward to all of the wonderful and exciting things that are happening in Term 4.  

Teddy Bears Picnic 

On Friday 10th October, the children had so much fun having their teddies at school. They helped on their Heart Word hunt and they had a Teddy Bears’ Picnic together in the Foundation playground. 

Coming up: 

Oktoberfest 28th October 2025 

Students are encouraged to dress in traditional clothing or colours of the German or Bavarian flag and participate in multi-age German activities throughout the day, along with a parade. 

Public Speaking Competition 

Foundation students have been sharing lots of special memories from their holidays through whole class sharing and writing. During Show and Tell time students have been presenting their speeches on ‘The best thing about being me’. We encourage all students to prepare, bring in some notes, drawings or photos to help build confidence and ideas. It will be a difficult task to choose just one Foundation student for the Public Speaking Competition.  

Little Learners Love Literacy  

Foundation students are doing a great job, working hard in their Literacy sessions this term. 

Maths 

We have been learning about sharing with lots of hands on activities and this week we have been focusing on length and measurement. 

Inquiry – Plants and Gardens - Life Cycles Incursion 22nd October   

This term our Inquiry unit is Plants and Gardens. Foundation students have begun looking in the school gardens and learning about the different parts of nature they can see/hear/touch/smell-trees, plants, animals and vegetables! We have had a variety of engaging activities the students enjoyed being part of to learn more about how plants grow including some planting of our own grass heads. We will be having a very exciting Incursion where they will be immersed through hands on activities discovering the differences between living and nonliving things. 

Fun in the Discovery Spaces in Term 4! 

 We are also lucky enough to be heading on an excursion to see Pevan and Sarah live in Concert on Wednesday 12th November which we are all counting down to see! 

We are happy to be back in our class with lots happening and diving into term 4 of learning!
