Children’s Week is a national celebration that recognises the talents, skills, achievements and rights of children.
It will run from Saturday 18 October to Sunday 26 October 2025, with thousands of Victorian children and families expected to take part.
This year’s theme is ‘Everyone should know about Children’s Rights’, based on Article 42 of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child.

On Tuesday evening, we were very pleased to welcome Tess and Michael from The Men's Project. They visited the school to run an engagement event with our wider school community, focusing on the pressures that men and boys can face in society and wider implications of these pressures - along with some ideas and strategies on how to manage and cope with these societal pressures. The overall aim is to create an environment/community where everyone can thrive via respectful relationships.
These pressures have been the basis of huge research conducted by The Men's Project, which can be found here if you would like some further information:

The event was well attended - we had over thirty parents and many Rangeview staff also chose to stay to be part of this event. Thank you very much to all who came along to be part of the night. A massive thank you to Tess, Michael and The Men's Project team for their support of our school community.
Please see below for a flyer that was available to attendees:

On Sunday October 26th, RAFT are holding the annual LEGO Masters event from 2:00pm-4:00pm in the school gym.
This is always a very popular one, so please get registered using the QR Code on the flyer below! Every child who attends will take home a small LEGO set as a gift. Thank you to the RAFT team for organising another great get-together for our school community.

Over the last two weeks, our student leaders have completed some community service by visiting two of our local kindergartens and spending some time supporting the younger children at these services. This idea spawned from the student leadership group themselves - a great showing of genuine student voice - and it was wonderful to see their idea come to fruition.
Thank you to both Children First Mitcham and Rangeview Preschool for being so open to working with our school and inviting our student leadership group along. They thoroughly enjoyed the experience, which included activities such as circle time, reading, outside play, small games and dance time.

Last week, our Year 5 students spent a full day exploring what it makes to be a positive
leader - and highlighted the important message that an individual doesn't need a badge to be a leader.
The 'Lead It' team came out and worked with our Year 5s on the following topics:
It was great to see our Year 5s actively participate across the day and make the most of this opportunity as they build towards becoming our school leaders in 2026.

October 2025 is Dyslexia Awareness Month and ADHD Awareness Month, and today (17th October) is Developmental Language Disorder Day. It’s a great opportunity to learn more about these conditions and how we can support diverse learners in school and at home.
About diverse learners
Diverse learners include students with characteristics of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), autism, developmental language disorder (DLD) and learning difficulties such as dyslexia.
Our school is committed to inclusive education where all learners are supported by evidenced-based teaching practices, which are essential for diverse learners.
Diverse Learners Hub
The Department of Education’s Diverse Learners Hub provides evidence-based guidance and resources for teachers and families on how to support diverse learners.
The hub’s website includes:
Resources developed by the department’s partner, Monash University’s AllPlay Learn team, including:
o parent resources
o why some children have trouble sitting or staying focused
o primary students with ADHD o secondary students with ADHD.
Video case studies:
These video case studies may be of interest to you. They feature schools that have exemplary practices in supporting diverse learners.
