Gala Day part 2
On Tuesday the Grade 5/6 students competed in their second Inter School Sport Gala Day.
It was amazing to see how much student’s skills had improved from our first Gala Day the previous week. Students showed that they had improved their game knowledge and strategic thinking as well as refined skills, particularly in those sports that were new to most students, such as Softcross.
At Kalinda Primary School, we pride ourselves on being respectful to our teammates, opposition players and umpires and this was shown on the day. We were fierce competitors but showed our understanding that there is nothing more important than showing great sportsmanship when competing. Our teams handled winning and losing like true champions!
A special congratulations to our Girls T-Ball team who were undefeated and were District Champions! We wish them the best of luck when they compete in the Division finals later in the year. Our Boys B Tennis Hotshots team were also District Champions in their competition so a big congratulations to them also.
Again, a very big thank you to our parents, grandparents and Steve from Warranwood Cricket Club who assisted and managed a team on the day. We wouldn’t be able to field as many teams as we do in the Inter School Sport Competition if it wasn’t for those who offer their help, so thank you!
