Captains Corner

By Swanya 6F

What a fabulous term we are going through. We’re already halfway through the term! The last 4 weeks have been extraordinary. We have been participating and enjoying many programs and activities and we have many more to come.

Firstly, the Preps and 1’s have started their 6-session swimming program. They are doing exceptionally well, and learning lots too!  Well done and keep it up because swimming is a very important skill to have.

The Year six’s have also been training for inter-school sports. Sadly, because of the District and Division swimming events, we have not been able to compete against any schools for the last 2 weeks. However, will be competing against Glendal tomorrow and we can’t wait! I am sure it will be great fun and good luck to all of the teams and coaches!

I would also like to congratulate everyone that competed in district tennis event this week, although no one qualified for the Division event, we had so many tight matches and we all had fun! Thank you to Mr Yousef for helping and supporting us, we really appreciate your efforts.

I would like to congratulate Onalee from Year 3. She has won many medals for her athletics events recently and has a very promising career in this sport. Well done Onalee and keep it up.

And now the thing that will blow your mind. Drumroll please………. our new year six play area. We have been labelling this project as the secret project for many weeks now because we wanted to surprise you. It is currently being built in the out of bounds area behind the oval. The builders are still clearing the area and it's still a work in progress however, we hope to enjoy it later in the year. I can’t wait and look forward to this amazing project being finished so we can have even more space to play and hang out with our friends!

Thank you for reading this fortnight’s newsletter and I hope you enjoy the rest of the term.

From Swanya, your 2024 School Captain.
