JSC - Service Learning Report

Good morning GWPS community,

We are your 2024 CIS Captains; Ali, Pranesh, Neervi and Ananda. In this newsletter, we will map out the fundraisers and plans for 2024 JSC Service Learning. We have some thrilling events lined up for the year! 

In Term 1, we are having a coin race - the class with the longest line of coins will be rewarded with icy poles and a hat draw to support the Royal Children’s Hospital Good Friday Appeal. The lucky person whose name is drawn from the hat will earn the privilege to ring the Royal Children’s Hospital and present the amount GWPS has raised. Our goal is to raise $2000.

In Term 2, we will be raising funds for the Heart Kids Foundation and our Sponsored child, Kaspian, through the Smith’s Family Foundation. 

In Term 3, we will be hosting a Book Drive where families can donate books which will be sold to raise funds for various school projects. This will be followed by a fundraiser for our sponsored child Charlotte Kapare, through World Vision. At the end of the term, we will be raising funds for our sister school (Jhapa Model English School) in Nepal.

In Term 4, we will end on an exciting note - The Colour Fun Run! This will be hosted on the 18th of October 2024. As per our yearly tradition, we will be supporting The Salvation Army through the Christmas Appeal.
