Wellbeing Team
Ms Mitchell & Ms Caruso
Welcome back to the 2024 school year!
It has been so lovely to see so many refreshed, smiling faces and many very happy new ones, as well.
For those of you who are new to Our Gilgai community, we would like to introduce ourselves to you as the Wellbeing Team.
This year, our Wellbeing Team consists of Natasha Caruso, Wellbeing Leader and Ruby Mitchell Leading Teacher of Wellbeing and Inclusion. Natasha and Ruby work closely with our Assistant Principal of Wellbeing and Operations, Lisa Stafford.
As Wellbeing Leader, Natasha’s role consists of working with our Education Support (ES) staff members who do a wonderful job at assisting our children with their learning inside the classroom, and even when developing their social and emotional skills outside of the classroom at recess and lunch times, too. You may have seen some of their happy faces around.
Ruby’s role varies from working with staff members in building their capacity to respond to students needs, to supporting students through various programs including our Connections Program which was extremely successful in 2023.
Excitingly, this year we will be implementing a formal Wellbeing Curriculum through The Resilience Project. More will come of this in Term 2.
In the meantime, you can often find Natasha and Ruby in the Wellbeing Office, located in Hub 2. See you around Our Gilgai!
