Term 1 Science News

This year the students in years 3-6 will learn about Earth and Space Science and Physical Science.

During term 1, the students in years 5 and 6 have been learning about the sun and our solar system. We have learnt about the first astronomers and which significant people contributed to the development of the telescope. The students have learnt about the origins of the universe and investigated the sun and planets. They will continue to explore how long each planet takes to orbit the sun and will compare the size and distance of the planets using models.

Here are some images of students making, ordering, and matching facts to the planets in Ozo Goes to the Solar System. The students will investigate the inner planet orbital rotations around the sun in future lessons.
