Junior School Update
Dear Parents and Guardians,
As we move into Week Six, it's heartening to see everyone in the Junior School finding their stride in what can only be described as a harmonious rhythm of learning and development. Our community thrives on the dedication and enthusiasm of our students, staff, and supportive families, and this week's update is a testament to just that.
IEP Meetings & Classroom Focus
We're pleased to announce that the majority of our Individual Education Plan (IEP) meetings have been successfully concluded, with all IEPs signed and in action. This marks a significant milestone in ensuring that each of our boys receives the tailored support and challenges they need to thrive. In classrooms across the Junior School, our boys are demonstrating impressive focus and diligence, engaging deeply with their learning.
Support, Extension Classes & Upcoming Events
Our specialised support and extension classes have commenced, offering additional avenues for our boys to explore their interests and strengthen their skills. Looking ahead to next week, we are excited about our participation in the DaVinci Decathlon. Lissa Coleman and I will be accompanying some of our students to this enriching academic competition, where they will have the opportunity to showcase their talents and creativity.
In parallel, our school community will be celebrating International Women's Day, hosting guest speakers Ms. Tenille Bentley, Director of En Coda Symphony Orchestra 432Hz and CEO of The Emotional Literacy & Mindfulness Academy, and Ms. Marnie Lefevre, Founder of Fempire. I hope you are able to attend the event though I won’t see you due to the Decathlon.
Mentorship & Support from Year Ten Students
We are incredibly fortunate to have the collaboration and mentorship of some wonderful Year Ten students and Corey Miskiewicz, Head of Year 10. These older students are engaging with our Junior School boys, providing mentorship during playtimes and invaluable support in the Junior School Library. They are available from 8 am on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday to assist with reading, homework, and learning times tables. We encourage you to motivate your son to take advantage of this opportunity for additional support and guidance from their older peers.
A Special Congratulations
Last but certainly not least, we extend our heartfelt congratulations to Callum Fraser for achieving an outstanding 6th place in the State for the Little Nippers Ocean Swim at Mullaloo Beach in the under 9 boys' category. This achievement is a testament to Callum's hard work, dedication, and the supportive environment fostered by our school and families.
Strength of Community
As we continue through the term, we are reminded of the strength of our community and the endless possibilities that come from our collective support and encouragement of our boys. Thank you to each and every one of you for your ongoing commitment to our school's values and the success of our students.
