Miss Kim Taggart

Yaama,

This term, our First Nations students in Years 1-6 are learning about Dadirri. Dadirri means 'deep listening'. Students are encouraged to sit or lie completely still and take in the stillness. The students have also been listening to an audio by Dr Mirriam Rose Ungunmerr Baumann. Students have been breaking down her words to see how they make them feel and have been making connections to what it means to their culture.

If you have a spare moment, sit with your child and experience Dadirri in your own home.

In the following weeks, students will conduct research about Dr Miriam Rose and her incredible life.

Our Kindergarten students are learning about 'family' and how important family is to our Aboriginal Culture. Students have been asked to draw a picture of their families and talk about what makes them special to them.
