MEBS - A Legacy of Excellence

Dear Boarding Community,

Welcome to the first full edition of Boarders' Buzz for 2024.

A big welcome to our new Boarders and their families.

Boarders Buzz will be published twice a term. However, a new MEBS Mini Buzz will be published at times to keep the MEBS Community updated with happenings from Boarding.

Start of Year

MEBS has enjoyed an excellent start to the new school year with the arrival of our Year 7 Boarders commencing on 31 January, along with the return of the Year 12's. The Kildare Year 8 -11 students also returned to MEBS. The following day saw our new Year 8 -11 Mater Dei and returning students arrive.

It was fantastic to see  the Boarders' Dining room full again on Wednesday evening sharing a meal together and excited about the return to school the next day. A big thank you to the Boarding staff and boarders who made the start work effectively for our new boarders and our returning boarders.

Term 1 is at the halfway mark and already MEBS Boarders have been busy involved in a range of school and boarding events including Assemblies, Opening Mass, Swimming Carnivals and Sporting competitions.

The KCC Achievers' ceremony was excellent. It was great to witness MEBS Boarders Ruby Carr and Jed Beavan receive awards for their HSC achievements.

Boarders' Mass

The Term 1 Boarders' Mass was celebrated on Wednesday 28  February. Due to very hot conditions, it was held in the airconditioned Kildare Hall instead of the Mount Erin Chapel.

We would like to acknowledge and thank the College Principals, their executive staff, Leaders of Faith and Mission Mr. Ondre Nejman and Pauline Streckfuss Guests, and of course our Boarders for their attendance and support on this important occasion.

Special thank you to Father Sean Brynes.
