Secondary Science

Students across the years have been busy in science in Term 1.

Our Year 7 students have been settling into the lab routines, while our Year 8 put their mining skills to the test with chocolate chip cookies. Our Year 9 students have been learning to safely work with electrical circuits and our Year 10 have been exploring chemical reactions and equations.

We are excited to have our first Year 11 cohort completing Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Psychology onsite. The chemists have conducted flame tests to determine the emission spectra of different elements, and the biologists have modelled the movement of molecules through the cell membrane using dialysis tubing. Among other topics our physicists have been stretching their mathematical understanding of energy, and in psychology students have examined attachment theory. Students also grew metal crystals.

We welcome Mrs Jade Holt to the science domain, and are excited to see all of the fun activities in F-4.
