Supervising students is a critical aspect of the duty of care in educational settings. It ensures that students are safe and supported while at school or during school activities. Here's what it involves:

  • Staff should actively monitor students, moving around the area, and engaging with them to prevent and address any issues promptly.
  • Supervisors should be easily visible and accessible to students, so they can quickly respond to any incidents or needs.
  • Understanding the specific needs and behaviors of individual students, so please make sure you are familair with the student's BRP and other regulation strategies.
  • Being prepared to implement emergency procedures if necessary, such as administering first aid, evacuating the area, or contacting the internal .

End-of-day Pack up routine

I recommend establishing a routine for the end of the day in your areas if you don't have one already, even when you are absent. A simple checklist of tasks to complete before leaving can be helpful for CRTs.
