SPOTLIGHT

NAIDOC WEEK

This week at St Nicholas we have been celebrating NAIDOC week. So far it has been lots of fun, students have enjoyed many activities activities using Gamilaraay language such as ‘What’s the time Mr Wolf’ and ‘Lingo Bingo’.

Thank you to all involved in the organisation of our NAIDOC assembly held earlier this week. Well done to all students that performed fantastically as part of the Cultural Dance Group. Congratulations to Azarlee Ramirez and Indy Single who were awarded this year’s ‘Keeping Culture Award’ which is an award presented each year to two First Nations Students in Year 6 who display leadership qualities among peers and outstanding pride and willingness to expand cultural knowledge.

To finish off our week, tomorrow, students can enjoy a ‘NAIDOC Mufti Day’ plus a fun and entertaining game of Oztag between Staff and Year 6 students. Parents are invited to attend. It will be held at 2:15pm on the school oval.

Thank you to Indianna Brazier, an ex-student of St Nicholas, who is currently completing her work experience with us. Indianna assisted Mr French with some of the NAIDOC Week activities during her time here with us.

Thank you for a great week at St Nicholas.

Mr Trevor French.
