Physical Education
Hi Families,
Hope you were able to enjoy a restful break.
Term 3 has already turning out to be a busy one! I am personally looking forward to watching the Olympics and sharing the various stories with the students over the two weeks. In classes, particularly the juniors, we have been talking about striving for our personal bests and how we can go about this, like the Olympic athletes.
Next Term for your diaries:
- Tuesday 23rd July: Year 4-6 Athletics
- Thursday 1st August: Year 4 District Basketball
- Monday 5th August: Division AFL Girls (students that have elected to attend)
- Tuesday 6th August: Division Soccer (selected students)
- Friday 9th August: Division Netball (Mixed/Girls) - (selected students)
- Thursday 22nd August: Year 5 & 6 District Basketball
- Thursday 10th September: District Athletics (for selected students)
Year 4-6 Athletic Trials - 23rd July
The weather is looking positive for a great day of athletics tomorrow. I met with all of the students last week, they have been given the opportunity to try each event we will run on the day, now it is time for them to have some fun with it.
Just a reminder that if they have elected they would like to run the 800m or the hurdles we will be running these events a little earlier and have a bus coming early to take these students. These students will need to meet the teachers in the community centre at 8.40am at the very latest to be ticked off and walk up to the bus at 8.45am. All other students will be picked up at 9.45am. These students will still come to school at normal time, instead of walking to their classrooms, they will meet their teachers in the community centre also.
The students are encouraged to wear their house colours and sport uniforms, no ribbons are awarded for this day but house points will be tallied and go towards the other events we have had throughout the year.
This day will also be used as trials for our District Athletics in September. The top 2 students from each overall event will be chosen to progress to this day.
Any questions, please email me.
Year 5 & 6 AFL Girls Division Gala Day
A number of students have elected that they would like to play in the up coming AFL Girls Division Day on Monday 5th August (operoo to follow for those students this week). To ensure we have enough footy boots, I wondered if you were cleaning your cupboards out and keen to donate any unwanted football boots to our selection, this would be greatly appreciated. If you do, if you could have your child bring them to school from this week onwards, it would be greatly appreciated.
Have a great week.
Stay safe, keep active
