Olympics Inspiration

As we watch the amazing Olympians in Paris, we can draw on their repertoire of personal skills as inspiration. The definition of success is to achieve an aim or goal. There are many examples we can see of success at the Olympics as we watch the athletes perform to their very best. Although it is exciting to win a medal, we can be equally proud of them for simply getting as far as being selected. We have used these inspirations as examples to the students at St Mary's as they highlight our learning powers:

  • resilience
  • perseverance
  • creativity
  • problem solver
  • reflective
  • motivated
  • collaboration
  • encouragement.

At St Mary's, we reflect these skills in the way we view our learning. Learning as a continued journey rather than simply a destination is why our students are growing in all areas of their learning and feeling success in the process...

Lunchtime Clubs

Lunchtime clubs help build student engagement, social skills and inclusion for all students. Lunchtime clubs can have benefits for students and the whole school community, including:

  • improved peer-to-peer and teacher-student relationships and wellbeing
  • a sense of personal empowerment and student voice
  • development of social and emotional skills
  • improved academic achievement
  • positive school climate and increased student sense of safety
  • reduction in playground behaviour incidents.

At St Mary's, we have a variety of lunchtime clubs which operate daily. These are communicated to the students so that they are aware of the options each day. Check out the fun these kids were having at Lego and Craft club!
