Dear Skye families,
I hope you've all been keeping warm and dry over the last fortnight. The foggy mornings have turned Skye into a bit of a winter wonderland in recent times, especially with the view over the back of the school. As always, we have plenty of updates to share with you in this edition of the newsletter.
We're kicking off our annual Parent / Caregiver / Guardian Opinion Survey, and we'd love to hear from you. This is a great opportunity for you to share your thoughts on how things are going at Skye Primary. The feedback we receive helps us understand what’s working well and where we might need to put a bit more focus. Whether it’s about school climate, student behaviour, or engagement, your input is incredibly valuable.
The survey is open from Monday, 29th July, until Friday, 30th August 2024. It’s entirely optional, but we really appreciate every response. It’s quick and easy—just 20 minutes of your time—and you can do it online whenever it suits you. Simply head to this link and use the PIN 477238 to get started.
Last week, we had a very special visit from Jodie Belyea, our Federal Member for Dunkley, to celebrate National Schools Tree Day. Our wonderful Eco Warriors, led by Environmental Leader Sarah Weiss, gave Jodie a grand tour of our school. Despite the bleak weather, they did an amazing job of showcasing our commitment to sustainability and environmental conservation.
Our team decided on a Coastal Banksia for the occasion, adding to our ever-growing collection of native plants. It’s inspiring to see our students actively participating in these initiatives and exercising their passion for the environment.
We are thrilled to announce the return of our whole school concert—our first since pre-pandemic days! This year’s show, titled Dreamweaver, promises to be a spectacular event that showcases the hard work and creativity of all our students.
Mark your calendars for Tuesday, 10th September, at the Frankston Arts Centre. Our classes are busy preparing their performances, and t’s shaping up to be something special. Keep an eye out for more details about performance times and ticket sales in the coming weeks.
A big congratulations to all the students who received Excellence Awards at our last assembly.
A special shout-out to the following students who have earned their 'Silver' status for consistently demonstrating our SWPBS (School-Wide Positive Behaviour Support) expected behaviors:
