PARENT/CARER SURVEY
The 2024 Parent, Caregiver and Guardian Opinion Survey is available to complete online until Friday 30 August 2024.
The survey seeks feedback on school climate, community engagement in learning and teaching practices for student engagement and outcomes.
Thank you to the families who have already completed the survey. We value your feedback.
MOBILE PHONES AT SCHOOL
We have had several incidents recently of students bringing mobile phones to school and we are reminding parents & carers that in accordance with the Department’s Mobile Phones — Student Use Policy issued by the Minister for Education, personal mobile phones must not be used at Westgrove Primary school during school hours, including lunchtime and recess, unless an exception has been granted.
Secure storage
Mobile phones owned by students at Westgrove Primary school are considered valuable items and are brought to school at the owner’s (student’s or parent/carer’s) risk. Students are encouraged not to bring a mobile phone to school. Please note that Westgrove Primary school does not have accident insurance for accidental property damage or theft. Students and their parents/carers are encouraged to obtain appropriate insurance for valuable items.
Where students bring a mobile phone to school, Westgrove Primary school provides secure storage. Secure storage is storage that cannot be readily accessed by those without permission to do so. At Westgrove Primary school students are required to give their mobile phone to the classroom teacher to be placed in a lockable cupboard.

YEAR 3-6 ATHLETICS DAY
Congratulations to all of the students who participated in the Year 3-6 Athletics Day last week. I particularly acknowledge those students who may not like doing these type of activities but participated anyway. These students showed a "have-a-go" attitude and great resilience and persistence to compete.
Thank you to Mr Armstrong for his organisation of the day. The day ran smoothly due to his prior planning. Thank you to the staff for supporting the running of the day and supporting the students to be their best. I acknowledge everyone for their flexibility in changing days so effectively.
The District Athletics Day will be held on 20th August. Details on Compass for selected students.
