It is with great pleasure that I welcome everyone back to Term 3. A new semester is a perfect opportunity to refocus and set our goals for the second half of the year. Goal setting is a high impact strategy and is an effective way to map out a clear path to success. Students are reminded that goal setting for semester two can be found in the College diary.
Year 7 Vaccinations
The School Vaccination Team from South Eastern Sydney Local Health District Public Health Unit will begin the Year 7 vaccination clinics from Term 3. The Team will visit Brigidine on Monday 26 August.
In 2024, Year 7 students will be offered the following vaccines:
Vaccination will only be provided at school if consent has been received. Online consent will only be accepted if provided through the NSW Health School Vaccination Program portal. Consent should not be provided to the school via email or other electronic form submission.
How to provide consent:
https://engage.health.nsw.gov.au/ Follow the steps to log in to your existing ServiceNSW account. This is the same account you may already use to renew your driver’s licence. If you do not have a ServiceNSW account, refer to ServiceNSW to create one.
The benefits of providing consent online:
Bus Etiquette & OPAL Card Compliance
Again, as we commence the term, I would like to remind our girls that it is a condition of the Student Code of Conduct when travelling that students must Tap On and Off with their School Opal Card or Child/Youth Opal Card every time when using public transport. This is so that Transport for NSW can understand customer travel patterns and adjust the services provided, if necessary. Recent OPAL data has shown that in the months of May and June, school bus services operating to and from Brigidine were carrying less than two students on average each school day. This is a concern as it places our bus routes at risk of being either modified, or redistributed to an area that has demonstrated a greater need.
Additionally, it is every student’s responsibility to behave in a manner that ensures the safety and comfort of the members of the public and drivers. Students are encouraged to remain seated while the bus is in motion and keep the volumes to a minimal, this is to ensure the drivers are distraction free.
