Stage 3 News

Term 3 has started with a flurry of activity - a science day, two athletics carnivals, education week and an assembly item.  In between all of these extra activities, Stage 3 has also managed to fit in some learning too!

In Maths, we made 3D objects using plasticine and toothpicks.

We also have started our targeting number groups in mathematics Mrs Bull, Mrs Townsend, Mrs Deiderick and Mrs Polson are concentrating on improving our number skills and extending students in these sessions.  Having small targeting groups will really strengthen our number sense.  Last week, activities were centred around the roll of zero in numbers.  We can’t wait to have more lessons.  These groups will run for the remainder of the Term.  MATHS IS FUN!!!

During dance, the Dingoes have been learning about how to use gesture to create movement sequences.  We practised how to perform simple gestures (such as waving) using our legs, elbows, feet or heads. The creativity and individuality shown by the Dingoes was impressive!

As part of Art, the Emus have studied the Australian artist Ken Done and have drawn and painted artworks in his style and using his techniques.  We have also loved watching the Olympics and this week we have started some artwork with this theme in mind.  Included are some photos of these artworks but we haven’t completed them yet. Stay tuned…
