Hammer Time!

The 3 year old Acacia and Banksia groups celebrated Father’s Day a little early this year, with an amazing woodwork experience where the children got to make their own Monster Car with their special person.  Anatoli from Craftpower came totally prepared with every element ready for the children to assemble. We began by talking about trees, the different things trees provide us with, the different types of trees and how enormous and old some of them are. We had a safety talk, reminding the children to have their safety glasses on and to be careful with the tools. Everyone was excited to get started and the children were so engaged in what they were making.  Hammering in the nails and making sure all the pieces joined together.  Each child having their own adult to help them meant there was no waiting around, no frustration and no accidents which was a bonus! It's the first time we've ever done anything like that and from the responses at the end, the adults and children had a great time. Today we’ll be painting them and adding faces, ready to take home at the end of the day.
