Whats been happening in the Junior classrooms..

Over the past few weeks, Grade 1/2 students have been learning how to make their writing more descriptive and informative. They explored nouns, adjectives, and verbs to describe animals, using new words like scamper, coil, and grip. After researching pythons, students organised their facts into information reports and are now publishing them as mini books. Their writing has been complemented by detailed artwork of a python coiled in a tree.

In FH and F/1K, students have been busy developing their skills as writers and information gatherers! Over the past few weeks, we have been learning how to write information reports, focusing on describing different facts about animals. We have explored how to organise our writing into sections and include details that help the reader learn something new.

Recently, our young authors focused on ducks. After learning and talking about their appearance, habitat, diet, and life cycle, students used their new skills to write their very own duck information reports. They worked hard to write in full sentences, use correct punctuation, and add their own illustrations.

We are so proud of the effort and creativity they have shown!
