Ms Brea Terris

Dear Families,

It has been a busy few weeks at SHNPS, and today was a fantastic celebration of Science Week! This year’s theme, “Decoding the Universe – Exploring the unknown with nature’s hidden language,” inspired students to dive into the wonders of science. Mrs Caldwell did an amazing job preparing a variety of fun and engaging science activities that captured everyone’s curiosity and imagination. Many hands-on experiments created curiosity in the science room!

Today at SHNPS, we proudly recognised Anti-Bullying Day, showing our commitment to kindness, respect, and inclusion. With a gentle splash of purple throughout the school, our students and staff stood together to promote a safe and supportive environment for everyone.

Parking

Please be aware that Police and Swan Hill Rural City Council have been monitoring parking on Murlong Street before and after school due to the ongoing building works.

Please ensure bus bays are kept clear before and after school.

We kindly ask all families to please use the designated school crossing on Murlong Street to ensure everyone’s safety. Thank you for your cooperation in keeping our school community safe.

Building Update

Next week kicks off the exciting start of the building demolition! It looks like the old staff room and Science Room will be taken down on Wednesday or Thursday, but this could change depending on a few things. We can’t wait to see the progress as our school keeps growing and improving.

Parent/Caregiver/Guardian Opinion Survey

Our school is conducting the annual Parent / Caregiver / Guardian Opinion Survey offered by the Department of Education and is seeking your feedback. The survey is designed to assist schools in gaining an understanding of families’ perceptions of school climate, student behavior, and student engagement. The survey is optional, but we encourage and appreciate your participation.

Our school will use the survey results to assist in identifying areas for improvement and professional development needs in the school, to target school planning and improvement strategies.

The Parent / Caregiver / Guardian Opinion Survey will be open online from Monday 25 August to Friday 19 September 2025.

All families will be invited to participate in the survey. An email will go out with the details early next week.

The survey will be conducted online, only takes 20 minutes to complete, and can be accessed at any convenient time on desktop computers, laptops, tablets or smartphones.

2026 Enrolments

We are really excited to be accepting so many enrolments for 2026.

If you know of any families who would like a tour of the school, please encourage them to contact the office.

Uniform

Please ensure students are in full school uniform. It is important that students have a school jumper on and not a casual jumper. We have spare jumpers at the office if students need them.

Students will be asked to take beanies and coats off inside so they can stay warm outside.

Duty of Care

Families are reminded that teachers are on duty before school from 8.30am-8.50am and after school from 3.20pm until 3.30pm. Children should not be unattended in the school grounds before or after these times. Thank you for your support and co-operation with this.

Have a lovely weekend.

Kind Regards

Brea
