Assistant Principal's Report

We are now halfway through Term 3, and there is a great deal happening across the school. Students and teachers are actively preparing and rehearsing for the upcoming school concert, while a variety of incursions, excursions and sporting events are also taking place.

Staff Professional Learning

Our staff engage in professional learning sessions every Tuesday and Thursday afternoon. This Tuesday, two of our middle leaders, who are participating in ongoing professional learning with Ryan Dunn, facilitated a workshop on Formative Assessment and Strategies for Checking Understanding. Drawing on their learning, they focused on the effective use of hinge questions - an important strategy to check student understanding before moving forward in a lesson. Staff collaborated in groups to reflect on their current practices and explore how to incorporate hinge questions into their lessons. To extend their learning, staff were tasked with reflecting on lessons throughout the week to identify opportunities where hinge questions could have been added at critical points to check student understanding.

2025 Parents/Caregivers/Guardians Opinion Survey (PCGOS)

WE WANT OUR PARENTS / CAREGIVERS / GUARDIANS TO TELL US WHAT THEY THINK! 

Our school is conducting the annual Parent / Caregiver / Guardian Opinion Survey offered by the Department of Education and is seeking your feedback. The survey is designed to assist schools in gaining an understanding of families’ perceptions of school climate, student behaviour, and student engagement. The survey is optional, but we encourage and appreciate your participation.

Our school will use the survey results to assist in identifying areas for improvement and professional development needs in the school, to target school planning and improvement strategies. 

The Parent / Caregiver / Guardian Opinion Survey will be open online from Monday 18th August to Friday 19th September 2025.

All families are invited to participate in the survey.

The survey will be conducted online, only takes 20 minutes to complete, and can be accessed at any convenient time on desktop computers, laptops, tablets or smartphones. 

Please consult the Compass Post distributed on Monday for the survey link and other pertinent information.
