House Athletics Carnival

Over two action-packed days, Wednesday and Thursday, The Junior School community came together for the annual House Athletics Carnival. This provided a wonderful opportunity for our boys to display their competitive spirit, athleticism, teamwork, resilience and house pride.

Wednesday saw students participate in the long jump, triple jump and 800m events. Thursday brought the excitement of throws and track events. The weather was on our side as all the boys participated to the best of their ability on the track. The atmosphere was electric with lots of support from the student bays and parents who enjoyed the sunshine.

A huge thank you to Mr. Thompson for all his hard work in the lead up to the carnival. Mr. Thompson ensured all boys had an opportunity to compete in a fun and inclusive way. The day would not have been possible without the support from the College’s wonderful grounds and maintenance team, Mrs. Ella Spencer and all the teaching staff who assisted with set up and different roles throughout the day. A final thank you is extended to our Year Six families who provided a wonderful afternoon tea for the spectators to enjoy.

Spirit of the Arts – Choir Performance

A busy week for our Junior School boys who once again displayed their talent in the Spirit of the Arts Festival. On Tuesday, our Year 4 Choir, Year 5/6 Choir and Junior Vocal Ensemble performed at the Basto Club. We are incredibly proud of the 200 boys who attended and sung with such skill and enthusiasm.

Thursday night our very talented and dedicated Junior Concert Band performed at Newman College. Once again, the boys represented themselves and the College with great distinction.

Thank you to Mrs. Clarke for her continued support of the boys and her hard work to ensure the boys are brilliantly prepared for each performance.

Student Achievement

We are incredibly proud of one of our students, Harper Lude (6G), who is stepping up to make a difference in the lives of those experiencing homelessness.

From October 20 to 29, Harper will be participating in Nedd’s Uncomfortable Challenge, a national fundraising initiative run by the charity We Are Mobilise. This organisation provides real and immediate support to help individuals and families move off the streets and into safe housing.

As part of the challenge, participants commit to doing something that makes them uncomfortable for 10 days. Harper has chosen an extraordinary goal: running 10km every day for 10 days—a total of 100km!

This is Harper’s second fundraiser for We Are Mobilise, and his commitment is already making a huge impact. His original goal was to raise $6,000, enough to house two families. Thanks to overwhelming support, Harper has already surpassed that target, raising $6,685—and has now set his sights on a new goal of $10,000.

We are inspired by Harper’s determination, compassion, and willingness to push himself for such an important cause. If you’d like to support his challenge. Here is the link to his donation page:

QCE Awards

We have entered our Year 4 and TCEC group into the CEWA QCE Awards this year for the 'Small  Tabs, Big Impact' project the boys have dedicated themselves to this year.

We’d need your vote! Don’t forget to share the link with your families, friends, and students because they can vote too for the People’s Choice Award. Every vote helps celebrate the dedication and hard work of our students!
