Just sharing some more AMAZING art work. This term we have been talking about 2D and 3D, symmetry (Year Two) and colour. Our imagination and creativity came shining through while building our robots.

Visual Arts Senior

We have been working very hard to finish our donut paintings in year 3/4. We used shading to show dimension in our work and also used colour to make our donuts POP!

In year 5/6 we have been adding texture and depth to our dragon eyes by using paint and pencils.

ART CLUB

This term the Art Captains are running an art club for Grade 1 and 2 students at Thursday lunch time. Today the captains taught the younger students how to draw some of their favourite things.

Senior Performing Arts Grades 3 - 6

Lots of fantastic drama skills and activities have been occurring in the middle and senior classes in Performing Arts this past fortnight.

The Grade 5 & 6 ‘s have been busy creating their Drama TV Advertisement. Each group chose a product (mostly from Ms Jedrys’ pantry!!) and created a creative script to try and persuade the audience to buy their product, while incorporating drama elements into their ad. Their drama focuses are; body movement, facial expressions, tone and gestures. We are up to the rehearsal aspect of the TV ads with some groups even ready to film this week.

Here are some Grade 6 boys in action during rehearsal for their ad on Barilla pasta!

The 3 & 4’s have also been busy learning new drama skills and building their confidence while presenting in front of their peers. We have been doing lots of drama role play scenarios and safe to say, we have some very talented and creative students! This week, each class will be starting on small group play scripts, which is very exciting!

Dance Club

The Dance Club that has been run by my four Performing Arts captains finished up last Thursday. After rehearsing all of Term 2 and the start of this term, both groups had completed routines and presented to each other last Thursday in the hall. The Grade 3 girls did an incredible job, led by captains Esther and Hannie. The Grade 4 girls group were also fantastic and have some serious acro talent in their midst, which was showcased in their routine created by Tiana and Carina. I’m super proud of the four captains who worked really hard to create their routines and gave up their lunchtimes to run these sessions.

A big well done to the Grade 3 & 4 girls who joined and committed to coming every week to Dance Club.
