Sport at Homestead

Interschool Sport

This term our students represented Homestead Senior Secondary College in basketball, table tennis and the Hobson’s Bay Division Athletics Championships. The senior boys and girls basketball teams showed great teamwork against strong competition, while the Year 10 boys impressed with an undefeated run before falling just short in the semi-finals. The Year 10 girls also showed strong promise, recording a couple of wins across the day.

In table tennis, the Year 10 boys finished third overall, displaying dominance in their singles matches but narrowly missing out in the doubles.

The athletics championships were a highlight, with six students – Vedant S, Jamie G, Raqeeba I, Gloria N, Naomi C and Crystal C – winning multiple track events and progressing through to regionals in Term 4.

Congratulations to all students for their outstanding efforts and for representing our school with pride.

Ashlea Tan

We are so proud to announce that Ashlea Tan has been named a finalist for the prestigious Victorian Youth Sailor of the Year at the Australian Sailing Victoria Awards!

This award recognises the exceptional young sailors in our community who demonstrate dedication, passion and commitment to the sport, and Ashlea is a fantastic example of that.

We’re thrilled to see her achievements recognised at a state level, and we can’t wait to cheer her on at the Awards Night, hosted at Sandringham Yacht Club on Friday 12 September."
