Principal's Report

Dear Families and Friends,

It is hard to believe we are already halfway through the term! There is always so much happening in our school, and Week 4 is a great time to touch base and share a few updates with you all.

P&C AGM - Monday 11th August at 3.00pm

Our P&C Annual General Meeting is coming up next Monday at 3.00pm B1 The AGM is an important part of the school year and a great opportunity for families to get involved in shaping school life. Whether you are interested in joining the committee, helping out at events, or simply coming along to find out more, we would love to see you there.  Family engagement is so important to us, and the P&C is one of the most valuable ways to connect, contribute and have your voice heard. Your involvement helps create a strong sense of community and belonging for our students and that is something we all value deeply.

Friday Dress-Up Days - A bit of fun for everyone!

We are absolutely loving our themed Friday Dress- up days this term. The creativity, colour and excitement from both students and staff have been fantastic to see. These fun days bring a bit of sparkle to our weeks, create great talking points in class, and help build confidence, connection and joy across the school. Thank you to families for helping your child get into the spirit, we cannot wait to see what costumes appear next!

Individual Curriculum Plans (ICP's) - Let's Chat

ICP's are now being finalised and sent home for parent/carer review These plans outline your child's individual learning goals and how we are supporting their progress across the semester. We kindly ask that parents and carers make contact with their child's classroom teacher to discuss the ICP's and arrange a time to meet and sign off. These conversations are so valuable, they help us to ensure our goals are meaningful, achievable and reflective of your child's strengths and needs.

Thank You - Wednesday Supervision Team

A huge shout out to our amazing Educational Support Staff who supervised students on Wednesday the 6th August. We are so proud of the way you all worked together, supported one another, and provided such a positive and calm day for our students. It does not go unnoticed, Thank you!

Prep Enrolments Now Open

If you or s is looking to enrol their child in Prep for 2026, we are now accepting enrolments. We are also excited to invite families to our Prep Open Day on Tuesday 2nd September from 9.00am - 10.00am. This is a great opportunity to meet our team, see our classrooms in action and ask any questions about Prep at our school.

Meet Our Amazing Staff - Facebook Fun

You might have seen a few familiar faces popping up on our Facebook page lately! We are having a bit of fun this term by introducing you to the wonderful people who make our school such a warm and welcoming place. Keep an eye out each week as we share a little more about our team - who they are, what they love, and why they are so passionate about working at Rockhampton North Special School. It is just one more way we are building community and celebrating our incredible staff.

As always, Thank you for your ongoing support and partnership. We love having you as part of our school family.

Kind Regards
