This week in History, we are learning to identify influential people who contributed to the Australian Federation.

 


VOCABULARY

Influential: having an impact on someone/something. This can be positive or negative. 

 

Australian Federation: The Federation of Australia was the process by which the six separate British self-governing colonies of Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria, Tasmania, South Australia, and Western Australia agreed to unite and form the Commonwealth of Australia, establishing a system of federalism in Australia.


ACTIVITIES YOU CAN DO AT HOME TO SUPPORT YOUR CHILD'S LEARNING

Pick one of the following people and research about them. Explore what influence these people had on Australian history, what impact they had and what qualities/type of people they were. 

 

Create a poster or a fact sheet to show your understanding about the influential person.
