CURRICULUM FOCUS

This week in Mathematics, we are learning to add and subtract fractions.

VOCABULARY

Fractions: a numerical quantity, less than a whole, for example, ½ or ¾

Add: to increase.

Subtract: to make smaller/remove.

Adding fractions: When you add fractions with the same denominator (bottom number), you just need to add the numerators. If the denominator is different, you need to make it the same, then add the numerators (top number) together.
