This week in Writing we are learning to write a narrative that considers the audience and purpose.
VOCABULARY
Orientation: introduces the setting, the characters and the situation. It's the who, what, where of the story.
Purpose: an author's purpose may be to amuse the reader, to persuade the reader or to inform the reader.
Pebble: the start of the problem.
Rock: the next part of the problem, continuing on from the pebble.
Boulder: the biggest part of the problem. Can be a continuation or a reaction to the problem.
Climax: the turning point of a story when the main character's problem begins to be solved or resolved
Resolution: the end of the story.

Using the prompt below, have your child write a narrative that considers its audience and purpose. Students can create a poem, a rap, a comic strip or write a narrative to showcase their imaginations!
