Sacrament of Confirmation
This Sunday 28 October, we have 19 young people from our Parish receiving the Sacrament of Confirmation.
We look forward to welcoming Most Reverend Bishop Anthony Ireland to our Parish as he celebrates this wonderful sacrament with us. He will also be visiting our school tomorrow afternoon to meet all of the candidates before the big day!
The Sacrament of Confirmation is one of the seven sacraments in the Catholic Church.
It is a momentous occasion where young individuals reaffirm their commitment to their faith, receive the Holy Spirit, and become full members of the Church.
The Confirmation ceremony typically takes place during a special Mass. It involves the laying on of hands and anointing with holy oil by a bishop.
Candidates choose a Confirmation name, the name of a saint they admire, which reflects a personal connection to their faith.
We ask you to pray for the candidates as they prepare to receive the sacrament of Confirmation this weekend.
We especially ask for you to pray for the following Holy Family students who will be making this memorable next step in their faith journey:
