Holy Cross Choir Shine at the Sunbury Show

On Saturday 14th October, our school choir competed in the Battle of the Choirs competition at the Sunbury Show.

There were seven schools competing in total.  Our school had the smallest choir, but their voices were angelic!

The songs sung were 'A Million Dreams' from the Greatest Showman and 'Cover Me in Sunshine' by Pink.  The girls spent many months practising and it all paid off!

I'm very pleased to announce that we came second - a wonderful achievement, especially as it was the first time the choir were entered in a competition.

As choir master, I was very proud of the way the girls handled their nerves and excitement.  They supported one another and performed with professionalism and smiles.

I'd like to thank the parents for bringing them along on the day and of course, the choir for bringing positive energy to the day.

Round Two: Sacred Heart MasterChef

In Round Two of the Sacred Heart MasterChef competition, our young chefs dived headfirst into the art of pasta-making. The children showed confidence in their ability to make sauce, even complimenting the inclusion of oregano alongside the basil. However, it was the dough that truly commanded their attention and proved to be the evening's biggest challenge. With determination, they tirelessly kneaded the dough, pushing their arms and wrists to the limits. It was a race against the clock, and with mere seconds to spare, they managed to ladle their delicious sauce over the hand-made pasta. Their persistence and team effort made Holy Cross exceedingly proud.

Prep Activity Afternoon/Year One Dinner

Last night our Prep and Year One children joined together for an afternoon of fun and delicious food. The children experienced a variety of exciting activities such as the Hoops in a Circle Challenge, Infinity Tag and a special games room. After working up an appetite the children snacked on fruit kebabs and chicken and salad rolls. To top off the evening the Year One children enjoyed an icy pole for dessert. Thank you to the Prep and Year One team for organising and running the event!

5/6 excursion to Mt Macedon

On the 18th of October the year 5-6 children went on a bush walk. We had so much fun, the kids got to experience the Mount Macedon Air and we got to bring iPads along to take videos and photos of our mother nature. We had a partner to alternate between carrying our bags we had a stop about an hour in to have some recess. There were a few park benches spread out across the opening in the forest. We continued to walk for about another hour, and on the way, we saw animals like lizards and koalas We also got a great view of the Macedon ranges below. at the top, we got some great pictures of the view below. Then after the great views we went to see the cross, we got to take pictures and got to socialise with other people and have a quick snack. From the cross, we walked about 500 meters to the bus while picking up rubbish for the environment we walked passed a restaurant and put our rubbish in the bin. From the restaurant, we walked to the bus that was taking us to school.
