Year 12 Coming to an End

It is with immense pride and joy that I extend my heartfelt congratulations to the remarkable students who have successfully (a few more exams to go for some!) completed their High School journey at Wantirna College. As principal, I am filled with admiration for each and every one of you who has worked diligently, overcome challenges, and reached this significant milestone. This graduating class embodies the spirit of excellence and perseverance that defines the Wantirna College community. Your dedication to academic achievement and personal growth has set a standard of excellence that will leave a lasting legacy that others will find challenging to surpass.

As you reflect on the years spent at Wantirna College, remember the friendships forged, the lessons learned, and the challenges that have shaped you into the capable individuals you are today. High school is a transformative period, and you have emerged not only as graduates but as resilient, creative, and compassionate young adults ready to take on the world, after a very disruptive educational journey!

Let me express my profound gratitude to the exceptional teachers and staff who have been instrumental in guiding and nurturing our graduates. Your unwavering commitment to providing a supportive and enriching learning environment has undoubtedly played a pivotal role in their success. The partnership between students, parents, and educators is a cornerstone of the Wantirna College experience, and it is heartening to witness the positive outcomes that result from this collaboration. I look forward to joining with all three groups as we celebrate at the Valedictory dinner next Wednesday night.

As you embark on the next chapter of your journey, whether it be furthering your education, entering the workforce, or pursuing other meaningful endeavours, the entire school wishes you well. Remember that challenges are opportunities for growth, and that you have been successful in overcoming some of the biggest challenges during the COVID period.

The world awaits the talents and contributions that each of you has to offer, and I have full confidence that you will make Wantirna College proud. Once again, congratulations graduates! May your journey ahead be filled with endless possibilities and unparalleled success. And don’t be strangers, come back and visit and let us know what you’re up to when you on the next journey in life.

iCan Challenge 2024

Are you ready to walk 50km in one school day and raise money for the Royal Children's Hospital?!?

The iCan challenge will be back again next year, taking place in thelast week of Term 1 2024. We will be walking 50 kms along the beach from Middle Park to Frankston in one school day!!!

Transport  will be available from school to the start line and from the finish line back to school for those that need it. The event will be run like a professional fun run, with an iCan Challenge event t-shirt, food and drink stations throughout the walk, a medallion when you cross the finish line and a celebratory BBQ with families.

This year, we aim to raise $50,000  for the Royal Children's Hospital Good Friday Appeal, whilst having some fun and bringing the community together.

There will be prizes for individuals and teams who raise the most money. Parents can volunteer to walk and/or support the event.

Please note: Participants will need to complete some training walks  before the event.

If you like to demonstrate leadership, help our school community or simply enjoy being involved and participating in great community events, I  encourage you to come to our lunchtime launch on Tuesday 21 November, in the Theatre.

OUR LAST iCAN CHALLENGE EVENT WAS THE BEST DAY EVER!!!! I hope you will join us in 2024.

Parent Forum

On Wed 22 Nov, 6pm - 7:30pm, we will be holding our next Parent Forum in the General Staffroom on the topic of School Communication (including Compass & Maestro). This is a social opportunity for parents to meet other parents whilst also hearing briefly from members of the Principal team and have the opportunity to ask questions. Light refreshments will be available and we hope many of you will join us.
