Celebrating Success at the VCE Unit 2 Music Recital

The evening of Thursday, 9 November, saw the Theatre at Wantirna College abuzz with the VCE Music Unit 2 Recital. Students from the Unit 2 Music class took to the stage, presenting two contrasting pieces each, with a notable incorporation of live musicians in their performances.

The event showcased an impressive range of musical styles, spanning from music theatre to metal, classical to jazz, and various other genres. An extensive range of instruments were on display, including voice, bass guitar, electric guitar, drums, piano, saxophone, and tuba.

Mr. Stuart Andrew and Ms. Michelle Lam provided piano accompaniments, while students supported one another in pairs or small ensembles, demonstrating a spirit of collaboration and teamwork.

Our thanks go to Cooper Rockstro, Deng Kuot, and Harry Langsford for their adept handling of the lighting, creating a visually captivating ambiance that enhanced the overall experience of the performances.

The recital, attended by supportive parents and friends, emanated a positive and encouraging atmosphere, underscoring the community's commitment to fostering a thriving environment for artistic expression and growth.

It served as a culmination of the students' efforts throughout the year, marking the completion of a significant milestone in their musical journey and stood as a testament to the dedication and commitment of Wantirna College's Performing Arts department in nurturing and fostering a thriving artistic community within the school.
