Year 11 Chemistry students are completing their final School Assessed Coursework for the year this week! Their assessment requires them to come up with their own experiment investigating an area or concept they have learnt this year. There were various experiments within the class and I am very proud to have seen the growth in my students throughout this year - they surprised me with their creativity and passion for Chemistry when conducting their practical investigation earlier this week.

In our class, Chem A, we had a variety of titrations testing for the concentration of different acids present in strawberries, lemons, limes and oranges. We also had other groups creating salt crystals, 'blue bottles' and 'hydrogen peroxide foam' (try searching these up to see what causes these reactions to occur!). This practical investigation has been a wonderful and fun way to finish off the year before exams begin.

The Year 11 Chemistry students will finish up their experiments at the end of this week by submitting their final assessment in the form of a scientific poster. Well done to all students in this cohort and we wish you all the best for your upcoming exams!
