Step Up Program 21 - 29 Nov

Year 10 into 11

The purpose of Step Up is to help maximise the learning opportunities and delivery of the Unit 3 VCE / VM Curriculum Program. Teachers will have the opportunity to start teaching Unit 3 and provide students with targeted holiday homework. This is to ensure that, at the start of the following academic year, students have a solid foundation of required key knowledge and key skills to build upon for the rest of Unit 3.

Commencing Unit 3 in the previous year, will mean more learning time can be spent on Exam preparation and Exam revision the following year.  It will also increase time devoted to SACs and SAC preparation.

Year 11 into 12

The Step-Up program for Year 11 VCE / VM students going into Year 12 in 2024, is a seven-day program starting on Tuesday 21 November and will conclude with a Year 11 Academic Review Conference on Thursday 30 November.

Year 11 Academic Review Conferences 30 Nov

All Year 11 VCE and VM students are required to attend a 15-minute, student-led, conference with their Explore teacher on Thursday 30 November. The purpose of this conference is for students to critically reflect and review their Exam preparation and performance, as well as the overall academic school year.

In addition, students will set learning growth goals for Term 1 2024, based on areas of improvement and discussions during the conference. Parents are encouraged to attend.  These conferences are compulsory for all VCE & VM students, and any student who does not attend may be required to attend the review meeting in Week 10.

Explore Term 4

Explore is compulsory for all students across Years 9 – 12.  We would like to express the importance of your child's attendance at the Explore program each Wednesday during Period 3.

Explore is designed to allow students to 'explore' who they are, who they can be, how to be their best and how to confidently navigate a lifetime of careers. Students engage in a combination of Study Skills, Career Education and Wellbeing and Respectful Relationship programs.

Please note that we also use this time to distribute student 2024 subject information.

Students who don’t attend regularly will miss important learning and information. Please see the attached Explore Program outline for Term 4.
