Bogan Bingo - Friday 17th November (ADULTS ONLY)

We’re really excited for our first Bogan Bingo evening this Friday. A big thank you to everyone who has bought tickets or made a donation to it - it’s really appreciated and it looks like we're going to have such a fun night!

Doors open at 7pm for a 7.30pm start. BYO food and drinks.

Markers for your bingo games can be purchased for $1. Please make sure you bring plenty of gold coins and a few notes as there are lots of games to play throughout the night. We look forward to having lots of fun!

End of Year Raffle

Just a reminder we are on the lookout for unused, unopened items for our end of year raffle. We’re talking about body care sets, glasses, toys, general gifts, chocolates, xmas items (decorations, wrapping as an example), etc… things that we can add to our raffle. It needs to be in excellent condition and unopened (we’re not an op shop)! Please leave items near Cam’s office.

We are also in need of some volunteers to come and help organise the raffle prizes on 5th December. If you’re able to help, please sign up here:

Community Cookbook 2024 (but we need you now)!

As part of our fundraising for 2024, we will be launching a Community Cookbook in March, to tie in with our Harmony Week celebrations.

And this is where we need you!

We would love to include your recipes in this book, celebrating our wonderful and diverse community. So………

On Monday 27th November, we will be collating your recipes and asking for samples to be brought into school by 10am that day.  We will be selecting recipes to go into the following categories:

  • Lunchbox Fillers
  • Sweet Treats and snacks
  • Just like Nonna’s
  • Quick dinners (you know the ones you prep in advance or make on sports nights)
  • Brekkie inspiration

These recipes can be childrens recipes, yours, or family/ friends that you love so much. They can be printed out or handwritten and submitted with a sample (we are able to re-heat etc) to taste on Monday 27th November.

From here, a small group of community members will be involved in sampling and selecting for inclusion in the book - please note that based on what we receive, the categories may change.

We will then notify the selected entries and commence work on the layout.

Then, once we return back to school in 2024, we will be launching a competition for the children to design a front cover for the cookbook.

This book will be available to purchase from Mid-March.

Why are we starting so early you may ask?

Given the school holidays and launching this book in time for Harmony Week in March, we are aiming to get in a position to go to print by the end of February 2024.  The recipes are the key and we know that December is a very busy time of year for all our families.

We really hope that our school community embraces this idea and submits a recipe. Families can submit more than one if they wish (but only one may or may not be selected).

We will be adding hints and tips throughout the book to recommend how to make recipes gluten free or vegan/ vegetarian/ halal/gluten friendly too.

Please bring your recipes and samples to the SAKG kitchen on Monday 27 November from 8.30am - 10.00am. Please make sure they are clearly marked with a name and which year your child is in (e.g. year 3) so we can ensure we are being inclusive.

We can’t wait to see what our community comes up with!
