Truganina P-9 Stars Shine at the Year 6 and 7 WMR Tennis Finals
The excitement was palpable as Truganina P-9 College’s Year 6 and 7 tennis teams competed in the Western Metropolitan Region (WMR) Tennis Finals, showcasing remarkable skills, sportsmanship, and team spirit.
On the 7th and 8th of December, our talented young athletes took to the courts against the best schools in the region, each match filled with thrilling rallies, powerful serves, and strategic play. This competition was the culmination of months of dedication and hard work, with students pushing themselves in practice and showing great resilience on the day.
Despite facing strong opponents, the Truganina players gave their best, impressing both the coaches and spectators. Standout moments included Anya’s come from behind win and Vidul’s upset against competition three years older than him which boosted team morale and impressed other schools.
In the end, both Year 6 and 7 teams took out the division event but fell just short in the regional finals. More importantly, the students embodied the values of teamwork and determination, gaining valuable experience and strengthening their love for the game.
The success of our tennis teams reflects the school’s commitment to encouraging participation in sports and building confidence and resilience through physical education. Congratulations to all players and coaches who participated and represented Truganina with pride! We look forward to more sporting triumphs in the future!
