CURRICULUM FOCUS

This week in Writing, we are learning to plan and write a narrative text using fiction text - characteristics, character, setting problem and solution in the fictional text. 

VOCABULARY

Narrative: a fiction text that tells a story

Fiction: a made-up story

Setting: where a story takes place

Problem: something to be solved

Solution: fixing the problem 

ACTIVITIES YOU CAN DO AT HOME TO SUPPORT YOUR CHILD'S LEARNING

Discuss your child’s story / favourite TV show and help them identify the characters, setting problem and solution or let them be creative and make up their own characters, setting problem and solution. 

Use any media to write the narrative text.

Things that you can help with are starting a sentence with a capital letter, leaving a finger space between words, correct formations of all the upper and lowercase letters and using full stop at the end of the sentence.
