Year 10

A memorable end for Year 10

As the Year 10 journey at Shelford comes to the end, we reflect on a series of special events that have made these final few weeks together a time built around connection and celebration.

The Year 10 Formal was certainly a highlight of Term 4. The perfect way to celebrate the end of examinations, the girls embraced the evening’s elegance. Dressed beautifully, they enjoyed the stunning surrounds of Rippon Lea Estate with lawn games, captured cherished memories in the photobooth, and danced the night away with their friends. It was an occasion filled with laughter and connection, creating memories that will last a lifetime.

Our Wellbeing Days offered another opportunity to celebrate, connect, and savour the remaining time together at Shelford. With a mix of emotions in the air—nostalgia, sadness and gratitude—the girls embraced these days wholeheartedly. Gratitude letter writing to their supportive teachers provided a moment for reflection, while activities like mug decorating and Kris Kringle fostered creativity and joy.

A particularly memorable (and extremely hot!) outing to Inflatable World brought energy and fun before returning to school, where the girls enjoyed ice cream courtesy of SPA. The final afternoon was capped off with a special walk through the upstairs of Helenslea, a poignant reminder of their shared history within the Shelford community.

As this chapter ends, I am deeply grateful to have had the opportunity of being the Year 10 Year Level Coordinator. The bonds formed with the girls are ones I will always cherish. I wish each of them every success and happiness as they embark on their next chapter in 2025.

A special thank you to my Wellbeing Mentors Ms Ganatra and Ms McLeod for the care you have shown and the fun you brought to Homeroom each day; to the Year 10 parents and the wider Shelford community for your support and contribution to making this year so special. Shelford truly is a remarkable place, and I feel privileged to have been a part of its history.
