Class 8 Projects 2024
This year’s Class 8 students have chosen an impressive range of topics for their projects, reflecting diverse interests and unique perspectives. But what is the Class 8 Project? This project encourages each student to draw on their own initiative, creativity, and determination to select and explore a topic of personal interest. Over the course of three terms, students engage in a sustained process of investigation and discovery, culminating in a presentation where they share their journeys and insights.
Throughout the project, students maintain journals to document their practical efforts and internal challenges. This reflection process, captured in their journals, becomes the foundation for their final presentation. On presentation night, students recount the story of their project journey, sharing the highlights and low points, the obstacles they encountered, and the achievements they reached. They consider what motivated them, the organizational skills they developed, and what they might approach differently in the future. This introspection often proves invaluable, yielding lessons that extend beyond the project itself.
As they present, students reflect on the life skills they’ve gained. They learn resilience and problem-solving, discovering strengths they may not have previously recognized. They gain an appreciation for expertise and the time and effort required to develop it. They also express gratitude for the support they received from family and friends, honoring these relationships in a meaningful way.
The Class 8 Project serves as a powerful conclusion to their foundational years, providing a vision for their future and equipping them with skills essential for adulthood.
