Once Upon A Festival's ImPress Writing Competition Winners
During Week 3, our Year 6-8 students attended one of Australia's largest literary festivals for young people 'One Upon A Festival' hosted by Immanuel College. Along with thousands of young people, they experienced a stellar lineup of world-class authors and illustrators in workshops, talks and special events, all designed to foster a lifelong love of literature.
As part of the festival, the ImPress Writing Competition invites students to submit short stories with this year's theme of 'mysterious crimes, dangerous culprits, or intrepid inspectors'.
Congratulations to the following students whose stories received honourable mentions and were displayed for all to enjoy at the festival:
Kyle P (Year 6)
Joshua E (Year 7)
Imani H (Year 8)
SAFTA Poetry Contest
A big highlight was the 2024 SAFTA Poetry Contest, where both winners came from South Plympton and Brooklyn Park campuses! This achievement showcased our dedication to learning and expressing ourselves in French—a proud moment for our school.
I would like to share some lovely snapshots of our South Plympton French Poetry recipients who received their prize on behalf of SAFTA at Saint Peter's College.
Congratulations to our 2024 Junior winners:
