Year 6 Camp Somerset - Tuesday 5 - Friday 8 November, 2024
Girls will return to school on Friday 8 November at approximately 3.30 - 4.00pm and updates will be posted on Sundial by Ms Sallos from 2.30pm as to a more specific arrival time (traffic dependent).
Parents may collect their campers from Tivoli Carline (not New South Head Road).
** PLEASE NOTE - THERE WILL BE NO CO CURRICULAR OR EXTRA CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES ON FRIDAY 8 NOVEMBER FOR YEAR 6 CAMPERS.
Year 2 Excursion "Art Lives Here" - Art Gallery of NSW - Monday 11 November, 2024
PLEASE NOTE NEW DATE AND UNIFORM REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS EXCURSION!
As part of the Visual Arts curriculum, Year 2 students will participate in the ‘Art Lives Here’ tour at the Art Gallery of NSW. In this learning tour, led by experienced Art Gallery educators, the girls will be introduced to key artworks in the Art Gallery’s collection, examine different gallery spaces, and discover new ways of looking at and thinking about art and museum collections. Art Lives Here is designed to engage students with a range of artistic practices, and to spark curiosity about art and museums, as well as critical thinking about art and ideas.
Students will travel by private bus to and from the Art Gallery of NSW, on Art Gallery Road, Sydney.
On this excursion, students should wear FULL SUMMER DRESS UNIFORM including Blazer, Panama Hat, Yellow Ribbons and polished black school shoes and bring a packed recess AND lunch, water bottle, sunscreen, raincoat (if wet weather) in their black excursion bag.
PLEASE NOTE THERE WILL BE NO CANTEEN LUNCHES AVAILABLE TO ORDER ON THIS DAY - ALL FOOD AND WATER FOR THE DAY MUST BE BROUGHT IN A KAMBALA EXCURSION BAG. PLEASE APPLY SUNSCREEN PRIOR TO LEAVING THE HOUSE IN THE MORNING.
Students should arrive at school on time for roll call, followed by the bus departure soon after. Girls will return to school in time for normal carline collection and/or afternoon Extra Curricular Activities.

Kambala Annual Extra Curricular Dance Concerts - Saturday 23 November, 2024
Due to limited seating, each student is allocated a maximum of 2 tickets. Performing students will NOT be required to obtain a ticket, however, siblings not performing will require a ticket. Any child under the age of 2 years old will not need a ticket.
Should you require more tickets, any remaining tickets will be released on a “first-come” basis on Monday 11th November. Ticket bookings will close on Sunday 10th November at 8pm, the remaining tickets will be released on Monday 12th November at 10am.
For ALL YEAR 5/6 parents, due to limited seating you will only be allocated tickets to the afternoon 3.00pm show unless you have another daughter in the morning show as the routines they perform will be the same and I need to ensure everyone is able to get the required tickets.

USB’s
This year we have organised for the concert to be filmed so you are able to sit back and enjoy the show.
The customised USB’s are available for pre-purchase using the same link as the concert tickets. There are limited USB’s so please purchase them early to avoid disappointment.
Photography
Flash photography and video is prohibited throughout the show. iPhone camera flashes and lights distract the students on stage. We have organised for the school photographer to take photos during the concert which will be posted on Sundial.

Kindergarten Christmas Concert - Wednesday 4 December 2024 - Music Performance Theatre - 9.30 - 10.00am
On Wednesday 4 December Kindergarten will be performing their Christmas Concert at 9.30am. Parents are invited to attend. We ask that the girls come to school for this special performance dressed in a White or a Red dress (nothing too long please) and suitable shoes or sandals. Please begin preparing this outfit and make sure your daughter is dressed in it on the day. Thank you very much,

Year 2 Mini Swimming Carnival - Wednesday 4 December, 2024 - 11.30am - 12.30pm - Playfair Pool
We are very excited to announce that Year 2 will compete in a Mini Swimming Carnival taking place in Week 8 on Wednesday 4 December from 11.30am - 12.30pm am in the Kambala Playfair pool.
This is a student only event that is a fantastic opportunity for Year 2 students to use their swimming skills in a competition.
Every student in Year 2 will participate in 3 events, freestyle, backstroke and breaststroke. The focus of the carnival is fun, personal best and also aims to set Year 2 students up to succeed as they prepare to attend their first Junior School Swimming Carnival early in Term 1, 2025. A letter will be sent, via Sundial next week to Year 2 parents and carers that will contain further details of this event and what students will need to bring.
Both Year 2 classes have been working so hard on their swimming this term and we can’t wait to see them in action.

Please note - Preparation - Year 6 Junior School sisters attending with parents should be dressed in Kambala summer uniform with blazers.
Speech Day - Wednesday 11 December, 2024 - 11.00am - 1.00pm, State Theatre, Sydney
It is an expectation that all girls in Years 3 - 12 attend in full school uniform with a parent/s to hear the address and support students who will receive prizes.
Massie House sisters who attend Speech Day will need to attend in their school uniform.
