Elective PE - Golf
On Friday 15 November, Mrs Hobbs and her Middle School Elective PE class went to the Uralla Golf Club to hit golf balls. Leading up to the day, the class has been practising at school with golf clubs and tennis balls.
The class with putting around the green. We then went and hit buckets of golf balls down the first fairway. Students focused on keeping their head still and their body balanced. The group came back to the practice green for chipping practise. Brand new golf balls were given to the student who was able to get the closest to where Bruce was standing.
Finally, we went back to the fairway to ‘Flog’, (golf backwards), to hit golf balls down the fairway.
A big thank you to Bruce McMullen for taking the time to show students how to hit a golf ball, get students to think about setting up and how far away from the ball they need to be.
The students enjoyed the time at the Golf Club, and they can all hit a golf ball, some students surprised themselves they could hit it off the ground and straight.
Lucky students who won a new golf ball for their chipping accuracy were John and Liam.
