CrossXpollinatioN: A Celebration of Fibre and Textile Art

COPACC welcomes Local Schools to attend unique exhibition

CrossXpollinatioN, COPACC’s highly anticipated biennial fibre and textile art festival, is set to inspire and captivate audiences once again. Since its inception in 2013, CrossXpollinatioN has grown from a modest showcase of regional Victoria's talent to a prestigious event attracting artists and visitors from all over Victoria and interstate, even overseas! In 2022, the exhibition welcomed more than 850 visitors, a testament to its growing reputation and impact.

This year's exhibition will again feature a wonderful display of art created by students from local schools under the guidance of Artistic Director Veronica Phillips.

Children from St Mary's Primary School, Birregurra Primary School, Deans Marsh Primary School and Carlisle River Primary School have created delicate paper bird silhouettes using Japanese paper, thread, and watercolour pencils. These birds then had “secret wishes” sewn into the birds’ linings, representing the hopes and dreams of the young artists.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to Veronica Phillips for her dedication in facilitating the workshops that made this project possible, and to all the participating schools for their enthusiastic involvement. Your contributions ensure that CrossXpollinatioN continues to thrive and inspire.

Join us at COPACC to experience the magic of CrossXpollinatioN and witness the extraordinary talents of our community.

The exhibition is open daily between 10am and 4pm by gold coin donation until Sunday, 14 July.

There are still multiple key events coming up, so make sure you check our website www.copacc.com.au and follow us on social media.
