Principal's Update
Dear Parents and Carers,
Tomorrow is the last day of the Term 2 and the end of Semester 1. The students and staff have done a great job working hard right through to the end of this 11 week term. On behalf of all the staff we would like to thank and congratulate the children on their fantastic achievements. We would also like to thank the parents for their contributions and ongoing support in the education of their children. We pray that everyone has a safe and restful holiday and that we all return refreshed and ready to start the second half of the year.
Lord,
As we approach our mid-year holidays, we pray for ourselves and for our world.
We thank you for the luxury of holidays, for refreshment and rest from work.
We pray for those without the luxury of holidays. May your peace be known in their daily lives.
We pray for health and for all whose holiday is an escape from over-busy or unfulfilled lives.
We pray for justice and fairness for those in our third world countries who are underpaid and overworked, and struggle to support their families.
Lord, make yourself known to us afresh, that all our days may become holy days, to the glory of your name.
Amen.
Learning Conversations
On Tuesday and Wednesday Learning Conversations were held in the school library. This was a great opportunity for children, parents and teachers to celebrate and discuss overall achievements throughout the first half of the year, and to look at future goals as we move into second semester. Thank you to all parents for your support of this method of reporting. The response again has been extremely positive and we look forward to holding them again at the end of Term 4.
Fun Food / PJ Day
A reminder that tomorrow is Fun Food Day and the children will be served hot dogs in bread, so please don’t pack too much into their lunch boxes. The children are also invited to wear Pyjamas for the final day of the term.
Trinity Work Experience
This week we have hosted Year 10 Trinity students – Remy, Cooper, Milly, Gemma and Fiona for work experience. The students and staff have enjoyed having them in the classrooms and we thank them for their help throughout the week
Swimming P-2 Program
A reminder to all parents that our P-2 swimming program commences week 5 of next term. The children will go every Thursday from the 8th August to 5th September. Next term, please look on PAM to give permission for your child to participate. If you do not wish for your child to participate, please let their teacher know.
Pupil Free Days Term 3
Please note that in Term 3 we will be having 2 pupil free days for teacher professional development. The first will be in week 3, Friday 2nd August and the second will be in week 6, Tuesday 20th August.
Mick and Judy Leave
Mick has commenced his leave this week, we wish him well for his study and travels. Judy Carr will commence her leave at the beginning of next term for six weeks, we also wish her well for her travels. Please make contact with us in Mick’s absence if needed.
Enjoy the rest of your week and have a restful holiday break with your families.
