Sacrament of First Eucharist (Holy Communion)

Families have been invited to enrol their child/ren in this year’s Sacrament of First Eucharist (Holy Communion) Program. Children who have been Baptised and have made their First Reconciliation, and are eligible to proceed with their other Sacraments.

Preparation of the candidates takes place in Religious Education lessons with classroom teachers, with some work also being done at home. Part of the preparation for First Eucharist is the Family Workshop before the Sacrament. It is an expectation that students and at least one parent attend the workshop, as well as complete the task with their families. Students are also expected to attend a First Eucharist Commitment Mass.

Attendance at the workshop and Commitment Mass are compulsory, and families will not be allowed to book a place at a First Eucharist (Holy Communion) Mass unless they have attended both of these and completed any associated tasks.

Sacrament of First Eucharist (Holy Communion)

The Sacrament of First Eucharist is available for students in Year 4 or above who have been Baptised and made their Reconciliation and are yet to receive this Sacrament.

First Eucharist Family Workshop (child and at least one parent must attend):

Thursday 25 July from 6:00-7:00 pm at St Jude’s Church

Sacrament of First Eucharist Commitment Mass:

Saturday 27 July 6:00 pm Mass at St Jude’s Church OR
Sunday 28 July 10:30am Mass at St Jude’s Church

Sacrament of First Eucharist:

Saturday 14 September
1. 2:00pm HT Sacrament of First Eucharist (limited numbers) OR
2. 4:00pm HT Sacrament of First Eucharist (limited numbers)

If you would like to enrol your child/ren in this year’s First Eucharist (Holy Communion) Sacramental Program, please complete the Enrolment Form by Wednesday 24th July.
