Principal's Message

Dear Parents and Carers,

We hope this newsletter finds you well. We wanted to take a moment to reflect on the recent events held at our school and express our gratitude.

Literacy & Numeracy Night

A heartfelt thank you goes out to the parents who attended our Literacy & Numeracy Night. Your presence and participation are invaluable to us. We appreciate the effort you made to be there.

A special thanks to Mrs Francine Attard and Mrs Diane Antonucci for organising such a wonderful evening. They provided parents with fantastic resources to take home, ensuring that the information shared could be used to support your children’s learning journey.

We also extend our gratitude to our dedicated staff members who attended the meeting. It was noted that staff outnumbered the parents in attendance, underscoring their commitment to our students' education.

For those who were unable to attend the evening session, we held a repeat meeting on Tuesday morning. We appreciate the parents who took the time to join us.

The Importance of Literacy and Numeracy

We cannot stress enough the importance of literacy and numeracy skills. These foundational skills are critical not only during school years but also in everyday life and future endeavours. We encourage all parents to engage with their children’s learning in these areas and utilise the resources that were provided at our parent meeting.

The Importance of Daily School Attendance

It is crucial for children to come to school every day. According to government requirements, students must attend school from the age of five until they complete their education. Unfortunately, we have noticed that many students are having too many days away from school. Learning is ongoing and needs to happen daily, and it is an expectation that students are at school for 90% or more of the year.

Regular attendance is vital for your child's educational development and success. If you are experiencing issues with getting your child to school, please make time to speak to Mrs. Borg or myself. We are here to support you and find solutions to ensure your child can benefit from consistent schooling.

P&F Meeting

A thank you goes out to all the parents who attended our P&F Meeting on Monday night. It was great to see a number of parents present and engaged in discussions about upcoming events. Your presence and participation are invaluable to us, and we appreciate the effort you made to be there.

The P&F Disco is taking place next week. Get ready for a fun-filled evening of music and dancing. Information regarding the disco will be sent out by the P&F team, so keep an eye out for their updates.

Later in the year, we will be seeking committee members to be part of the P&F executive. This is a fantastic opportunity to get involved, contribute to the school community, and assist with fundraising efforts. I encourage parents to consider this opportunity to make a positive impact on our school.
