From the Year 2 Classroom

It’s hard to believe we are on the countdown to the end of Term with 2 weeks to go!

The Grade 2’s have been engaged and enthusiastic about their new learning over the last 2 weeks.  They were very well behaved and enjoyed the festivities of Sacred Heart Day last week.  The talent show was definitely the highlight of the day.

In Literacy we have begun to learn a new reading skill.  It is called Synthesizing, it is when we recall the information we already know about a topic, read new information about the topic and combine our knowledge together to create new learning.  The students are using this reading skill for Non-Fiction texts.

In Maths the students are focusing on measurement- Area and Graphing.  They enjoy looking at and interpreting what information is on a graph.

It was so wonderful to have so many parents come in and look at the students' work at our open class afternoon.  They loved sharing their learning.

Reminder: As the days are getting cooler and more clothing is being worn, please make sure all jumpers and jackets are clearly labelled.
