From the Principal

We would like to acknowledge the original custodians of this land

and waterways and pay our respects to the Elders past and

present and emerging, for they hold the memories, the traditions,

the culture and hopes of Indigenous Australia.

In Faith we will show..... Respect, Empathy, Inclusion, Excellence!

End of another term

We have come to the end of another term and students, staff and parents have much to celebrate as even though this term was 11 weeks, it was filled with much learning and activities to highlight their learning.  Reading the Semester One Reports outlined the growth that each child made over the course of the six months of schooling.

Thank you to all the Parents and Carers who attended either the PSGs or Parent Teacher meetings held over the last few weeks.  It is so pleasing to talk about the progress that has been made during Semester One and the achievements of each child.  Thank you to the teachers for making the reports and PLPs so personal for the children they teach.

Please take some time to celebrate your  child's effort and growth in work this semester.

School Production

If you ever want to keep a room full of children quiet then I recommend for you to watch an old classic movie.  Last Monday the children watched the The Wizard of Oz in preparation for the school concert in Term Three and they were mesmerized by it.  Next term's focus will be on the Learning Area The Arts: Dance, Drama, Music.

The Descriptors are:

Through Dance:Express, question and celebrate human experience, using the body as the instrument and movement as the medium for personal, social, emotional, spiritual and physical communication.

Through Drama:Create meaning as drama makers, performers and audiences as they enjoy and analyse their own and others’ stories and points of view.

Congratulations to Nav, Dion and Hector for representing St Anthony's School and achieving overall 6th place in the Chess Interschool Sports Round 7 standings.

Nav received third place for the Chess Championships.

Long Service Leave

I would like to inform you that I will be taking some Long Service Leave during Term Three. I will be on leave each Monday and Tuesday and during this time Mrs Loretto Campbell will be Acting Principal.  She will work closely with the MACS Southern Office and the school's Leadership Team. Please liaise with her in my absence on lcampbell@santglen.catholic.edu.au should you require to do so.

I hope that everyone stays well and avoids the winter chills and ailments that are upon us at the moment and we look forward to what next term will bring to us.

Student Absences

If your child is absent from school please advise the reason via email to their classroom teacher and the office or leave a message on the school phone by 9.00am.

We have had a number of sick children at school recently. If your child is unwell or requires analgesics they should be kept at home until they are well.

Yours sincerely

Margaret Carlei

Principal

Lord, in the midst of Winter, when days are short, dawn comes late and dusk arrives early remind us that in the darkness your light still shines and the warmth of your love is upon us.
